CFDA/Vogue Announce Fashion Fund Nominees

The Fashion Fund is an award that is given out to an up-and-coming designer by CFDA and Vogue. The winner receives $200,000 and mentoring in how to better their label. (There will be two runners-up as well, who will receive $50,000 and mentoring.)

New Lacroix Menswear… Without Lacroix

After Christian Lacroix’s departure from his own label due to bankruptcy, Sacha Walckhoff, the new designer of Christian Lacroix, is trying to repay debuts by designing menswear. Even though his main goals are to revive Lacroix’s original dreams of couture and women’s ready-to-wear collection, he is focusing on the monetary aspects of the company. His new menswear collection is priced at $260 to $310 for pants, $1,100 to $1,400 for jackets, and suits at $1,600 to $2,300.

We are living in a Gaga Nation. It’s undeniable. Ever since the release of her single, “Just Dance,” last summer, America can’t seem to get enough of the Queen of Electro-Pop, Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga’s immense popularity and quirky fashion sense has lead her to dabble in the fashion world and current trends.

Lady Gaga’s style is incredibly easy to recognize–it’s surreal, it’s loud, and it usually does not require pants. In her clothing, Gaga complete disregards convention and the social norm and creates outfits that transcends even the greatest fashion minds.
